Interactive Brokers is an American Internet brokerage company, which was listed on Nasdaq in May 2007 under the U.S. stock code IBKR, and currently has a consolidated share capital of approximately US$5 billion. As of the end of November 2016, Interactive Brokers' total client assets were approximately $84.6 billion. Interactive Brokers currently holds a full license from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) (license number: 453554), a full license from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) (license number: 208159), and a full license from the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan. Retail foreign exchange license (license number: 4010001100892).

Account Type

Interactive Brokers offers investors a range of different types of accounts, mainly individual, joint, trust IRA and UFGMA/UTMA accounts, friend and family accounts, family office accounts, small business accounts, advisor accounts, money manager accounts , Broker and Futures Broker Accounts, Proprietary Trading Group Accounts, Hedge Fund and Mutual Fund Accounts, Compliance Officer Accounts, Administrator Accounts and Institutional Hedging Basic Investor Accounts.

Commission

Stocks and ETFs are subject to tiered fees. If the monthly trading volume is less than 300,000 shares, a commission of $0.0035 per share will be charged; if the monthly trading volume is 300,001-3,000,000 shares, the commission will be $0.002 per share. If the monthly trading volume is 3,000,001-20,000,000 shares, the commission will be $0.0015 per share; if the monthly trading volume is 20,000,001-100,000,000, the commission will be $0.001 per share; if the monthly trading volume is greater than 100,000,000 shares, the commission will be $0.0005. Commissions are a minimum of $0.35 and a maximum of 1% of the traded volume. The commission for metal trades is 0.15 basis points on the traded volume, with a minimum of $2.
