Capital Index has two account types for investors to choose from, the Premium Account (minimum deposit of £100/EUR/USD) and the Professional Account (minimum deposit of £10,000/EUR/USD). Both accounts have a maximum leverage of 1:200.
Various account types are designed to meet different trading needs. For Professional accounts, the spreads are 1 pip on EUR/USD, 1.3 pips on GBP/USD and 1.2 pips on EUR/GBP, while the spreads on the Premium account are significantly wider, at 1.4 pips on EUR/USD, no commissions for FX trades, but overnight Interest is always a transaction cost. Also, Capital Index charges a monthly fee for inactive accounts, which can be a big disadvantage.
Capital Index provides clients with access to the world's financial markets through the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform, which is used by millions of traders around the world. MT4 is widely regarded as the most popular online Forex and CFD trading platform, suitable for traders of all experience levels. The MT4 platform has a fully customizable, user-friendly interface with a short learning curve and extensive tutorials to get familiar with the platform.
Clients of Capital Index can make deposits via bank transfers and bank cards. Deposits and withdrawals cannot be made to/from third-party accounts. To be fair, the payment method options are rather limited compared to some other online brokers. In addition, traders will be charged a fee of £15/USD/EUR for same-day deposits via bank transfers.
Clients can use the client portal and website at any time, but trading hours depend on the specific market. Capital Index lists the opening hours for each asset in its product description, for example, foreign exchange can be traded 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday.
Capital Index accepts traders from Australia, Thailand, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Qatar and most other countries.
