Organization Profile

The objectives of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Estonia are: to draft and implement Estonian economic policies and evaluate their results, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Estonian economy and creating macro conditions conducive to stable and coordinated economic development.
The work includes:
1. Develop national development plans and ensure that they are coordinated with various transnational development plans, and organize the funding, implementation and performance evaluation of such plans.
2. Participate with other departments to formulate development plans focusing on national economic development issues.
3. Formulate draft laws and arrange departmental work, including the performance of functions stipulated by laws.
4. Organization of cooperation with EU and international organizations.
