CMSA was established in 1995 to develop the capital market in Tanzania.

Introduction

CMSA was established in 1995 to develop Tanzania's capital market.
The main responsibilities of CMSA are:
1. To promote the efficient and sustainable operation of Tanzania's capital market and securities business, while ensuring fair and just transactions
2. Set up rules to guide the development of the industry, protect the interests of investors, protect the integrity of the securities market, and oppose misconduct
3. Authorization to regulate securities transactions, dealers, brokers and their agents and investment advisors
4. The government provides advice in establishing policies related to the securities industry
5. Build a healthy environment and promote the orderly development of the capital market
Goal: To become a professional and independent supervisory authority, to promote the development of capital and commodity markets, to promote the popularization of financial literacy, and to strengthen the protection of investors.
Mission: Prioritize authorization and regulation of securities markets and commodity exchanges to ensure that markets continue to operate with openness and integrity.
