In 2008, the value of foreign reserves held by the Central Bank of Morocco was estimated at $36 billion. In addition to managing the currency, the Moroccan central bank also oversees private banks that provide retail services.
The Kingdom of Morocco is a coastal Arab country in northwestern Africa. Its currency is Moroccan Dirham, code MAD.
