Introduction

The Manitoba Securities Commission is an independent agency of the Government of Manitoba that protects investors and promotes a fair and efficient capital market across the province.
The executive branch of the committee is made up of full-time provincial government staff and is responsible for day-to-day operations, including registration, processing applications and prospectuses, as well as investigating, prosecuting and conducting other hearings.
The Chairman is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Executive Branch of the Commission. The Chair reports to the Legislative Body through the Minister of Finance.
The Securities Advisory Committee and the Real Estate Advisory Committee were established for the securities and real estate sectors. These committees, composed of industry participants, meet to consider important issues and advise the committees.
