The Central Bank of Nicaragua, referred to as the Central Bank of Nicaragua, was established in 1961 and has the exclusive right to issue the legal currency Cordoba of Nicaragua. Nicaragua's financial system was once dominated by the state-owned Finance Corporation of Nicaragua, which was founded in 1980 as a merger of Nicaraguan banks, but by the early 2000s, a number of private banks and microfinance institutions established.
The Republic of Nicaragua is a presidential republic located in central Central America. The currency used is Córdoba, code NIO.
