The Bank of Lebanon (Banque du Liban) is the Central Bank of Lebanon. The Central Bank of Lebanon was established on August 1, 1963, and began full-scale work on April 1, 1964. Its main responsibility is to issue the Lebanese currency, the Lebanese pound. Other responsibilities include maintaining currency stability, monitoring capital flows, and maintaining the healthy development of the banking industry.
The Republic of Lebanon is located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea in southwestern Asia and borders the Mediterranean Sea to the west.
