Bank Negara Malaysia is the Bank Negara Malaysia which was established on 26 January 1959 under the Bank Negara Malaysia Act 1958 (as amended in 1994). Bank Negara Malaysia is wholly owned by the Malaysian government, and its paid-up capital has gradually increased and is currently 100 million ringgits. Bank Negara Malaysia reports to the Minister of Finance and is required to keep the Minister informed of monetary and financial sector policy matters.
